Individual Therapy.
for adolescents.
In this highly sensitive developmental stage, adolescents’ confront a slew of internal conflict - identity formation and development, social pressure and relationship difficulties, as well as conflicts around sexuality, boundaries, and self-empowerment. When working with adolescents, a foundation of trust is first and foremost established so the patient can be free to communicate through their feelings, learn to understand themselves and their relationships, and employ ways of adaptively managing behaviors.
for adults.
Daily life can present with a variety of issues including anxiety and panic, depression, relationship and intimacy problems, work-life balance, life transitions and general stressors. I work with patients to help them understand and manage these issues, and navigate through the overwhelming feelings that inevitably come up.
for women.
Women often face challenges that can be unique to their gender, such as motherhood transitions and infertility struggles, gender role biases, professional setbacks, as well as difficulty with boundary setting and self-assertion. In addition to exploring how their own personal histories relate to these feelings, I work with women to help them understand the societal contributors to feelings of shame and guilt, and explore pathways to self-acceptance and “good enough-ness.”
Relationships.
Satisfying relationships take work, and oftentimes pose challenge for everyone involved. Many people recognize that these challenges cannot be resolved on their own, and that outside help may be the most productive way to navigate through these struggles. I offer therapy services to a range of relationships including romantic partners, families, and professional relationships. I help my patients gain deeper understanding into problematic interpersonal dynamics, such as ineffective communication, insecure attachments, and difficulty getting needs met.
Parent Guidance.
Being a parent is really hard, and it’s important to remember that there is not one “right way” to be a good parent. Through parent guidance, I help parents gain a deeper understanding of their child’s internal life and behavior. This understanding then allows parents to more easily learn the concrete skills and interventions necessary to strengthen their parent-child relationship, decrease problem behaviors, and increase openness and peace in the home.
